Climate watchers are reporting that this past winter was the fourth-warmest on record in the 48 contiguous states, and that warm trend is continuing in the North Country today.
While it's not as warm today as it has been, temperatures are still above normal for the time of year, and several days of sunny days and warmer temperatures are in store, according to the National Weather Service.
Showers and possibly the rumble of thunder are possible today before skies slowly begin to clear. No record temps are expected today, but there a string of record-setting days could be coming.
Patchy fog and lows in the mid-thirties are expected tonight. By tomorrow, skies will clear and the high is expected to approach 70 degrees. Lows will only drop to the mid to upper 40s tomorrow night before another sunny and warm day Sunday with highs in the mid 70s.
The warm and clear weather is expected to continue through the middle of next week.
