Cooler and drier conditions will overspread the St. Lawrence Valley this morning, however an upper level low pressure system will move down from Canada and increase chances for showers locally this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Temperatures will return to seasonal normal today and then several degrees below normal on Monday with isolated to scattered showers and a few mountain snow showers possible, NWS says.

Expect a high today around 57 with showers likely after 5 p.m., the service says. An overnight low of 39 is expected.

Forecasters predict isolated showers after 11 a.m. Monday with a high near 50.
