Three radio broadcasting companies will simulcast the second annual Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley Radiothon fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4.

Radio personalities from WSNN/99.3 FM, WPDM/1470 AM, WQTK/92.7 FM, WLFK/95.3 FM, 1340 WMSA, and WSLB/1400 AM will be encouraging support for the worthwhile work of Hospice.

Every day, the nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley travel the North Country to provide end of life care for about 70 terminally ill patients and their families across St. Lawrence County.

“We need to remind everyone in the county of the importance of hospice care and ask them to support us as much as they can,” said Hospice Executive Director Brian Gardam. “The Hospice Radiothon is a great way to do that. Last year was a big success and we’re excited to do it again.”

“To my knowledge, bringing this many media companies together to support a charity had never been done before in this area until last year’s Hospice Radiothon. We’re happy to be helping in the same way again this year” said Derry Loucks, WPDM/WSNN Assistant Manager.

Last year’s Radiothon raised nearly $19,000.

Individuals, businesses, schools and other community organizations are encouraged to get involved early by pledging financial support, becoming commercial sponsors, providing incentive gifts and raffle items and by volunteering to help organize and staff the Radiothon.
