People who attended recent church services in Nicholville and Massena may have been exposed to COVID-19, according to the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department.

Anyone who attended wake services on Oct. 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Therese's Church and Priory at 68 County Rte. 55 in Lawrence may have been exposed.

People who attended a funeral service on Oct. 12 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 337 Trippany Road, Massena also have a risk of exposure to the coronavirus.

Public Health officials recommend that anyone who was at either location on those dates during those times be tested for COVID-19 and monitor how you feel. Monitor your temperature twice a day for 14 days. Call your healthcare provider for further guidance if you develop the following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscles or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. Tell your provider that you may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Testing is available through local hospital systems:

• St. Lawrence Health System 315-261-6240

• Claxton Hepburn Medical Center 315-713-6655

• Clifton Fine Hospital 315-848-8049

• Community Health Center of the North Country (Canton) 315-379-8132

"It is important to wear a mask when in public, at work, or any time you are with others not part of your own household; practice safe distancing; and wash your hands. Monitor yourself— be aware of how you feel. Stay home if you are sick and stay local," Public Health said. "If you have questions, please call the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department at 315-386-2325."
