Primary elections loom in St. Lawrence County

CANTON -- Primary elections are coming with early voting underway in the St. Lawrence County Human Services Building.

Contests are slated in Louisville, Norfolk, Canton, Morristown, Colton, Clifton, Fowler, Hammond and Russell.

Democrats in Louisville will select two town councilors in a three-way race between Shawn Thompson, Nancy Charleston and Roy A. Beshaw.

Democrats in Norfolk will select tw councilors in a three-way race between Jean Gang, Richard Bump and Robert Harvey.

In Canton, Republicans will select a Superintendent of Highways candidate in a two-way race between Stephen Smith and Jim Gibson. Those candidates will also face off for the Conservative nomination.

In Morristown, Jill Sullivan and Leanna Moquin are both seeking the Republican and Conservative nominations for Town Clerk.

In Colton, Republicans Peggy Mousaw and Ronnie Robert are seeking the Republican nod for Town Supervisor.

In Clifton, Kelly J. Smith II and Craig Perrault are competing for the Republican nomination for Superintendent of Highways.

Lynn Bishop, Scott Anthony Cleveland and Michael Capelllino are competing for two Republican nominations for Town Councilor in Fowler.

In Hammond, Ted Elk and Roger Hadlock are both seeking Republican nominations for Superintendent of highways.

In Russell Republican voters will choose between Marty Dumoulin and Gregory Jenne for the town justice nomination.

Polls will be open at regular locations on primary day, Tuesday, June 22.
