POTSDAM – The village Board of Trustees has set two hearings on changes to local law that would enable two proposed zoning changes.
On May 20 at 4:10 p.m., the board will hear comments on changing the zoning at 74 Lawrence Avenue from residential R-1 to R-3.
Also on that day, at 4:20 p.m. a hearing will start regarding the requested change from business B-1 to school, SCH, to accommodate Clarkson University in its purchase of the former Honda dealership there which the college will use for its Facilities Department.
The school paid $900,000 for the property, which had been listed locally at nearly $2 million. With the university’s purchase, the property is now designated as tax exempt and comes off the tax rolls.
The regular meeting of the board is set to commence after the hearings at 4:30 p.m.
