POTSDAM — The Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad is receiving a $126,400 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The local squad is one of three receiving a total combined $190,161.89 in New York’s 21st District, said Congresswoman Elise Stefanik who represents the region.

“I am proud to deliver critical funds to ensure our fire departments in New York’s 21st District are equipped to protect themselves and our communities,” Stefanik said.

“Our brave first responders make countless sacrifices and answer the call to serve day or night to keep our communities safe, and these funds play an important role to ensure they can continue this important work. I will continue to advocate for the resources our first responders need to keep the North Country safe,” Stefanik said.
