POTSDAM — The village board of trustees is to convene for their regular meeting later today (Tuesday, June 21) at 4:30 p.m.

A local property owner, Bryan Wolofsky of Montreal, who owns and operates the Swan Landing apartments, is expected to make an appeal to the village concerning his water bill, which he says is too high.

In an email to his tenants issued Monday, encouraging them to attend the meeting, Wolofsky, long an outspoken critic of the village, claims that the village government is not handling the financial end of the water service correctly and mismanaging the maintenance of the water lines.

Village Administrator Greg Thompson told North Country This Week that, on the advice of the village attorney, that he had no comment on the issue at this time.

Other agenda items to come before the board are an application for a grant for the Children’s Museum, a $7,000 contract approval with DANC for work on the Depot and Raymond street connection, and various appointments.
