POTSDAM -- The Potsdam town offices will get a tech upgrade as well as IT services from an outside contractor.
The town council approved several resolutions at its meeting Tuesday, Sept. 8, which facilitate the upgrades.
Council members discussed two different options for managed IT services from the firm Clear Data Solutions before settling on an all inclusive service at a monthly fee of $1,500 a month. The service, which breaks down to $75 per town computer or device per month, includes unlimited onsite work. During discussion council members
The alternative was a $400 per month plus an onsite hourly fee.
Clear Data Solutions will also be providing a system-wide back up for the town at a cost of $1,569.
Town council members also approved a $1,676 bid from Clear Data Solutions for a Dell 5410 laptop and Microsoft Office Home and Business 2019 software.
Finally the board agreed to reimburse Town Supervisor Ann Carvill $999 for her purchase of an "owl" camera and microphone system that the town has used in the boardroom to broadcast its meetings on Zoom during the pandemic.
