POTSDAM -- Potsdam police cited five drivers Friday with speeding tickets as part of Speed Awareness Week.
The Potsdam Police Department will have extra patrols on the road Aug. 6-12 for Speed Awareness Week, a high-visibility enforcement campaign aimed at reducing incidence of speed-related crashes, according to its Facebook page.
Police charged:
• George Lavigne, 65, Colton, was cited for speeding on Maple Street at 3:55 p.m. for allegedly driving 49 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone.
• Felicia B. Weller, 36, Norwood, was cited for speeding on Maple Street at 4:27 p.m. for allegedly driving 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.
• Vladimir Moise, 21, Ossing, was cited for speeding on Maple Street at 4:42 p.m. for allegedly driving 46 mph in a 30 mph zone.
• Robin E. Gagliardi, 56, Canton, was cited for speeding on Market Street at 5:11 p.m. for allegedly driving 46 mph in a 30 mph zone.
• Danielle M. Polniak, 40, Ogdensburg, was cited for speeding on Maple Street at 7:18 p.m. for allegedly driving 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.
All five were cited and released.
