POTSDAM -- Village police say they charged a Potsdam man with burglary and four other counts after he allegedly tried to break into his ex-girlfriend's house early on Friday morning.

Ryan L. McLean, 35, is charged with third-degree burglary, criminal mischief, attempted criminal mischief, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.

Police say he was arrested around 1:20 a.m. on Walnut Street after they received the complaint that he was attempting to break into his ex-girlfriend's home.

He was arraigned in Potsdam Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, without bail, pending further court action, police said.
