POTSDAM -- Village police say a Potsdam man is charged with aggravated DWI with a child in the car after fleeing the scene of an injury accident.
Joseph E. Martin, 38, is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with child in vehicle, driving while ability impaired by drugs/alcohol, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and running a red light.
Police say he was arrested after investigating a report of a personal injury hit-and-run on Elm Street.
He was found at his residence, allegedly under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol.
Police say they determined a 2-year-old child was in the car at the time of the collision.
Martin was charged at 7:18 p.m. Friday and released with appearance tickets for Potsdam Town Court on Jan. 9 at noon, police said.
