POTSDAM -- A Potsdam man was charged with driving while intoxicated Tuesday morning on Main Street after leaving the scene of a property-damage accident, according to Potsdam police.
Jase A. Page, 34, was charged at 12:04 a.m. with aggravated DWI, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and operating a motor vehicle while using a portable electronic device, officers said.
Page was located on South Street a short time after accident by SUNY Potsdam police, officers said.
He allegedly lost control of his vehicle while using his cell phone and struck a National Grid utility pole and then continued east on Main Street and struck a tree where his vehicle came to a stop, police said.
Page reportedly failed field sobriety tests and his blood-alcohol content (BAC) was .19 percent, officers said.
He was cited and released.
