POTSDAM — Due to staff shortages following a positive COVID case in its elementary school, Potsdam Central is dismissing youngsters early today.
“This evening we were notified of a positive case in our building,” said Jennifer Gray, PCS elementary principal. “All staff and students who could be possible contacts have been notified. As a result, we will have an early dismissal tomorrow due to staffing issues.”
Potsdam district elementary students at Lawrence Avenue will be dismissed at 1 p.m. today (Thursday, Jan. 14). Out of district elementary BOCES students will dismiss at their regular time.
If a child requires a change in their regular dismissal transportation plan, the school asks that a note is sent to school with the child.
Morning pre-Kindergarten and kindergarten students will be dismissed at their regular time of 11:05 a.m.
There will be no afternoon Latch Key, no afternoon pre-Kindergarten, and no afternoon kindergarten.
The middle school and high school will run on their regular schedules.
