POTSDAM — Potsdam Central School has delayed shifting middle school students to a four-day in-person learning model.

Under new social distancing guidelines that allow for 3-foot spacing for much of the school day, school officials were hoping to transition to four days a week beginning Monday, April 19.

“However, we are going to move our transition date back to Monday, April 26,” A.A. Kingston Middle School Principal Dan Cook said in an email.

“I understand that this is not what many of you were hoping for, but I want to make sure that we involve all of our stakeholders when making this change to our learning model,” he said. “We will be meeting with our reopening committee early next week, and involving the St. Lawrence County Department of Health to make sure all of our safety protocols will continue to keep our students and staff safe under the new guidelines.”
