POTSDAM -- At a special meeting on July 27, the Potsdam Central School Board of Education appointed Kristin Towne as high school principal.
Towne, a long-time member of the Potsdam community, taught art at both Brasher Falls and at A.A. Kingston Middle School in Potsdam for a total of 20 years before beginning a career in educational administration.
She served as the assistant high school principal at Salmon River High School for one year, and for the last three years served as the school principal at Hammond Central.
Board of Education President Joshua Fiske said, "We are pleased to welcome Ms. Towne back to the Sandstoner family. The Board is confident that the energy and enthusiasm that Ms. Towne brings to the position will be instrumental in welcoming students back to a fully in-person learning environment this fall."
“"I am excited to join this great team of educators and begin the important work of leading Potsdam High School", Towne said.
