POTSDAM -- Artist Sara Lynch is seeking design suggestions for small-scale murals for Potsdam’s AAK Middles School seventh grade science classroom.

Lynch and science teacher Rebecca Munn are looking to create a multidisciplinary experience that demonstrates how middle school science can be exciting and even beautiful. They want to hear from people of all ages about what they think would add fun artistic details to their community’s school.

The murals can be small and incorporate fixtures of the classroom like the sinks, outlets, and desks as well as on more open walls space and around the door.

Designs can be sent to Sara via email at saraelynch@gmail.com, her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SaraLynchArtist/, and drawings can be mailed to Ms. Munn at the middle school, 29 Leroy St., Potsdam 13676. Lynch will use the suggestions and designs she receives to determine what art is created.

To fund this project, Lynch wrote a grant to receive funds from the Decentralization Program, A re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, which is administered by the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
