NORFOLK -- Following an autopsy completed on June 8, a man who was found deceased in the Raquette River has been positively identified as 66-year-old Michael A. Bregg of Norfolk.
Medical Examiner Doctor Samuel A. Livingstone determined the cause of death to be asphyxiation due to warm water drowning.
The manner of death has been ruled as accidental.
Police say a boating accident likely caused the drowning.
Troopers said they responded around 4 p.m. on Sunday following a report of a body in the water near the Raquette River Campground.
