OGDENSBURG – Five people were charged after police discovered a meth lab following a raid on Montgomery Street home Monday evening.
On Feb. 25 around 6 p.m. Ogdensburg police executed a search warrant at 605 Montgomery Street, which was allegedly the result of an investigation into unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Once inside the residence, investigators encountered an active, one-pot methamphetamine lab, as well as a quantity of finished product, officers said.
“Due to the volatile nature of the active lab, and the caustic fumes that are emitted during the manufacturing process, the home was evacuated until fire personnel and the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team were on scene to remedy the lab,” according to Lt. Daniel Mousaw.
Homeowner Jaret L. Langstaff, 42, his girlfriend and resident, Amanda L. Fleegle, 34 were arrested along with Santanna M. Budd, 23, Ogdensburg, and Dylan C. Young, 30, Ogdensburg. On police charged Mychael A. Kendall, 33, Ogdensburg, in connection with the search warrant and investigation.
All five individuals were charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, felony, and were held at the Ogdensburg Police Department pending arraignment in Ogdensburg court.
The investigation remains ongoing and further arrests may be made.
Assisting Ogdensburg police was the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force and Deputies, New York State Police, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Border Patrol, Gouverneur police, Canton police and the Ogdensburg Fire Department.
