Podiatrist joins Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center staff

Dr. Forni, DPM, is experienced in forefoot and rear foot procedures, ankle arthroscopy, trauma, tendon repair, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, and platelet-rich plasma, said CHMC. He is familiar with laser, radiofrequency ablation, and ultrasound.

Services include treating ankle pain, ingrown toenails, minor foot surgery, corns, hammertoes, and more.

Appointments to see Dr. Forni, on Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the CHMC Canton Health Center, 38 West Main St., can be made by calling 315-713-6830.

Dr. Forni is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr. Forni earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Cedarville University, OH. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Independence, OH, where he was on the Chancellor's List and Dean's List. After college, Dr. Forni began his career in the Army in 2008.

His military career led him to Fort Gordon, GA, for his Residency and his Chief Residency at Fort Bragg, NC. He was Chief of Podiatry at Fort Stewart, GA, from 2011-2016 and was an adjunct professor at the Army Medical Department Center and School, Fort Sam Houston, TX, from 2015-2016. Dr. Forni is the Chief of Podiatry at Fort Drum, NY. During his time in the military, he received the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Medal, among others.

Dr. Forni is also on the medical staff at Carthage Area Hospital's Podiatry Clinic.
