POTSDAM – SUNY Potsdam students are conducting a telephone survey of Potsdam residents to see how they feel about the possibility of disbanding the village government.
SUNY Potsdam spokeswoman and Potsdam Dissolution Committee member Alexandra Jacobs says the politics class project is just that, and not an official survey for the committee or the village.
The project is designed, she said, to give the politics students some experience with an actual local issue.
One round of calls to gauge community sentiment has begun, and another round is planned for late October, close to when a vote on the issue of dissolution might be on the November ballot in the village.
