CANTON – The annual pre-Easter Peter Rabbit in the Park event, sponsored by the Canton Chamber of Commerce, will take place Saturday, April 1, at the ice rink at the Roos House on the SUNY Canton campus.
At Wednesday’s monthly meeting of the Canton Chamber’s board of directors made the call to hold the event, initially to be held at the Canton Village Park, at SUNY Canton.
Signs will be posted at both the village park and the Canton Pavilion informing the public the event has been shifted to SUNY Canton.
Saturday’s forecast calls for a rainy and windy day. Families planning to attend the event can check the Canton Chamber’s Facebook page for the latest information.
Activities will get underway at noon with a cake walk, face painting and egg decorating offered by students from both SUNY Canton and St. Lawrence University. The egg hunt will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Prizes for Golden Eggs will be presented to children in ages groups 1 to 3, 4 and 5, and 6 and 7.
People can park in the two lots in front of the building or in the large rear parking lot with entry to the Roos House through the front or back doors.
The backup site for the event is typically at the Canton Pavilion but that venue is unavailable because the ice is still in place.
