RUSSELL — A Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a parolee transfer from Georgia on multiple drug and firearm felony charges.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Sheriff Hunter Yerdon, a three-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, made a traffic stop on County Route 24 in the Town of Russell on Feb. 9.
During the stop, Yerdon encountered multiple individuals, including Patrick A.J. Lawrence, 41, of Antwerp, NY, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Lawrence was a parolee transfer from the state of Georgia to New York and was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, as well as extended high capacity magazines and 4.5 grams of Methamphetamine, officials say.
Lawrence was subsequently charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both class C felonies, three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, class D felonies.
Lawrence was arraigned in Town of Russell court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.
