PARISHVILLE – A Parishville man has been charged with assault after he allegedly choked his wife, punched her in the face, and pushed her over a railing, all in the presence of their child.

Jason M. Gilmour, 36, 1889 State Rt. 72, is charged with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing/circulation, and endangering the welfare of a child, following an investigation of the Sunday incident by deputies from the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Gilmour grabbed his wife by the throat, struck her in the face twice, pushed her out the front door, causing her to fall over a railing and land in the driveway.

The alleged victim was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by Parishville Rescue for treatment of her injuries and was released.

Gilmour was arraigned before Judge Camp in Colton Town Court and sent to the county jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.

The court issued a stay-away order against Gilmour.
