A news release from Matt Doheny's campaign is saying that Democrat Bill Owens' "lied" when he said that Fox News personality Bill O'Reilly has endorsed him in his bid to keep his seat in Congress.
"Bill Owens needs to admit he lied and retract his comments that he has been endorsed by Bill O’Reilly and explain why his strategy for re-election has been misrepresenting Matt Doheny and his successful career," Doheny spokesperson Alison Power said.
"It’s time for Bill Owens to talk about the issues and stop lying,” she concluded.
In an article last month in the Watertown Daily Times, O'Reilly, a high school classmate of Owens, said “I would have voted for Owens if I was up there. He's an honest guy."
