OGDENSBURG -- More than 50 employers and exhibitors have signed up to be at a job fair and career expo hosted by North Country State Sens. Patty Ritchie and Joseph Griffo Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Hall at the corner of Rt. 37 and Linden Street.

“We have received an overwhelming response from businesses, health care agencies and educational institutions across the North Country, many who are looking to hire right now, and others who are prepared to help job-seekers with the tools they need to find a career that’s right for them,” said Ritchie. “People can learn about what jobs are out there, and how to be ready to go get them.”

In addition to accepting job applications, exhibitors will provide career counseling, assistance with resume writing, tips for improving interview skills, and information about starting your own business.

Over 300 job seekers attended a similar event sponsored by Sen. Ritchie in Fulton.

“We want to show people who are looking for a job or exploring new career options what kind of training and educational programs are available here in the North Country that will help them reach their goals, and provide for their families,” Griffo said. “People are sometimes surprised at the number of high paying jobs that are available in northern New York if you have the right combination of skills and experience."

Participation in the job and career fair is free. Preregistrations are being accepted at www.ritchie.nysenate.gov.
