OSWEGATCHIE -- Oswegatchie Valley Service Unit 505 kicked off their 2019-20 Girl Scout year at the Burt Family Pumpkin Patch.
They operate Rowan’s Little Pumpkin Ridge with stands in Gouverneur, Edwards, Canton, Ogdensburg, and Watertown.
Charlie and Meredith Burt welcomed the troops to the field, explained the types of pumpkins, how they grow, and a little history of the family owned patch.
Then the girls all were able to pick and take home their own pumpkin, according to Carley Bearden, troop leader.
