One new case of COVID-19 in St. Lawrence County, nine cases active

St. Lawrence County Public Health Department reports one new case of COVID-19 in the county on Tuesday, July 28.

Officials say nine cases are active, four of which are hospitalized.

The total number of infections in the county to date is now at 255. There have been 242 patients released from isolation and four people have died of the illness.

County hospitals tested 26,544 people for coronavirus infection as of July 27, the most recent date for which data is available.

Testing for COVID-19 is done through local hospital systems by appointment only. Call the numbers below between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. if you have symptoms or feel you should be tested:

"New York On PAUSE continues until August 20th 2020 (as written in Executive Order 202.53), requiring postponement, cancellation, or restriction of all non-essential gatherings of more than fifty (50) individuals, and gatherings occurring indoors must not exceed 50% of maximum capacity, provided the region has reached Phase 4 of the State’s reopening, and provided that social distancing, face covering, and cleaning and disinfection protocols required by the Department of Health are adhered to.
