North Country This Week
STAR LAKE -- Volunteers from the North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to one person after a fire Sunday morning at 7 Scotts Point Rd.
The fire was reported around 8:40 a.m. by the homeowner, according to Star Lake Fire Department Chief Rick Rusaw.
“It was a total loss unfortunately,” he said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, Rusaw said.
Star Lake Rescue as well as Cranberry Lake and Newton Falls firefighters responded to the scene.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance for necessities such as shelter, food and clothing to one adult. Volunteers also offered emotional support, health services and comfort kits containing personal care items.
