POTSDAM – Massena based State Police investigated a two-car minor personal injury accident that occurred on SR-56, Potsdam, approximately 0.2 miles north of Country Lane at 7:47 p.m. Sunday night.
Erin E. Freitag, 26, 6897 SR-56, Potsdam, was traveling north on SR-56 and entered the southbound lane in a no-passing zone to pass an uninvolved northbound vehicle.
When Freitag attempted to re-enter the northbound lane, she struck the rear of a northbound vehicle operated by Stephen H. Flynn, 59, of 32 Hough Road, Massena.
Freitag was transported by the Potsdam Rescue Squad to Canton-Potsdam Hospital as a precautionary measure and later released.
She was issued tickets for passing in a no passing zone and following too closely, returnable in the Town of Potsdam Court on Sept. 9 at 9:30 a.m.
