State police responded to a two-vehicle accident around 10:15 a.m. Sunday in the Town of Colton at the intersection of State Route 56 and State Route 3
An investigation determined Ivan Madrid, 55 of New Canaan, Conn. was traveling at a high rate of speed in a black Honda Accord and failed to stop at a stop sign, striking a gray CRV, operated by Linda M. Weaver, 58 of Hartford, Vt. Weaver was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for internal pain with non-life-threatening injuries.
Madrid was issued vehicle traffic tickets for failure to stop at a stop sign, and speed not reasonable. The tickets are returnable to Town of Colton Court.
