OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg will receive $50,000 to improve energy efficiency at City Hall.

Senator Patty Ritchie announced the $50,000 grant today.

“Ogdensburg has one of the most beautiful public buildings in upstate New York, but it was built in 1929; long before designers could take advantage of the many energy saving technologies we have today,” Sen. Ritchie said.

“When I opened my Senate office in St. Lawrence County, I saw that I could help city taxpayers reduce their municipal energy costs by working with city and state officials to obtain funds to help modernize city hall.”

"Having our State Senator in city hall has been a tremendous asset to the people of St. Lawrence County who need help from state government," said Ogdensburg Mayor William Nelson.

"Our citizens having direct access to their Senator, has improved the link between local and state government which has resulted in quick resolution to issues. I want to thank her for her efforts on our behalf and assisting us in making our city hall more energy efficient."

“I want to thank Senator Ritchie for working with the city to help reduce energy costs for the hardworking taxpayers of Ogdensburg,” said Ogdensburg City Manager John Pinkerton. “Installing modern, insulated windows will reduce our community’s energy usage.”
