OGDENSBURG — Riverview Correctional Facility’s Make A Difference Committee recently gave over $1,500 in restaurant gift certificates to United Helpers.

Prison employees donated the cash, which bought the gift cards from local eateries.

“The outbreak of Covid-19 has affected so many residents and staff members that those not ill were working multiple shifts away from their families to take care of over 150 residents,” said a news release from the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. “Employees from Riverview Correctional felt that this would help the employees to deal with the personal strain they are under and everything they have had to deal with during these difficult times.”
