OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Pride & Beautification Commission will sell 30-by-60-inch vinyl banners to those who wish to commemorate those who have served or are still serving in the military.
The banners will include a picture and years of service and will be hung to the utility poles of Ford Street in Ogdensburg from Memorial Day 2020 to the fall of 2020. Once the banners are taken down, they will be given to the applicants to keep.
Banners are limited and will be awarded to the first 20 applicants to submit their full application, picture and form of payment.
The cost for each banner is $175. The Commission can accept cash or checks made out to the Ogdensburg Pride & Beautification Commission. The veteran must meet the following requirements:
-Reside in Ogdensburg in the 13669 zip code and/or have graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy/St. Mary’s Academy (regardless of current residency)
-Can be currently active duty or a veteran to any United States Military Branch
The application deadline is March 10.
The Commission has a limited amount of banners for this project, so banners will be awarded on a first come first served basis to those who have fully submitted their application (application, picture and form of payment).
