OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg Department of Public Works will begin paving work next week, with 21 blocks slated for work this year.
Department of Public Works Supervisor Shane M. Brown said he isn’t sure of the exact dates yet, but said work will begin on 700 Block of Montgomery Street.
“We are paving 21 blocks this year. We also are putting a new water main on Academy Place before we install the new blacktop,” Brown said.
Brown said other areas slated for work are the 900-1,000 blocks of Green Street; the 600-1200 blocks of Congress Street; the 300-500 and 1,900-2,100 blocks of Jay Street; the800-900 blocks of Lafayette Street; the 600-700 blocks of Rosseell Street and the 10 block Academy Place.
The travelling public can expect road closures when paving gets underway.
“When we are working on a particular street the street will be closed to traffic during our work day,” Brown said.
Ogdensburg was awarded $322,063 in Consolidated Highway Improvement Program funding and $73,514 in NYPAVE funding to help complete the work.
