MORRISTOWN -- An Ogdensburg man who shot himself in the leg while trying to break-up a domestic dispute June 2 has now been charged with assault in connection with the incident, according to state police.
Mark L. Palmer, 49, who was transported to Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, for treatment of the gunshot wound, was charged Saturday with third degree assault-intent to cause physical injury and criminal obstruction of breathing, police said.
His son, Scott L. Palmer, 18, of Morristown was charged following the incident with second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree menacing.
Mark Palmer allegedly mistakenly fired the shotgun during the dispute, injuring himself.
