OGDENSBURG — An Ogdensburg man was charged with felony drug possession stemming from a traffic stop in Hammond, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies arrested Scott T. Murphy, 20, Oct. 14 at 5:40 p.m. for fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony, officers said.

The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop that took place on Oct. 2 around 3 a.m. in the Town of Hammond where Murphy possessed more than one gram of methamphetamine.

He was arraigned in the City of Ogdensburg Court and was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.

Murphy was charged with rape Oct. 15 stemming from an incident last fall. To read that story, click here.
