OGDENSBURG -- State police said they arrested 55-year-old Leo T. Compo Jr., of Ogdensburg, after he allegedly nearly collided with another person in a vehicle on July 6.
The victim was reportedly traveling westbound on State Route 37 in the town of Lisbon, when Compo, traveling east, swerved into his lane, causing the victim to take evasive action to avoid a collision, officers said. This act also violated an active ‘stay-away’ order of protection.
Compo was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and first-degree criminal contempt, police said.
He was arraigned by the Gouverneur Town Court, and released on his own recognizance.
Compo is ordered to reappear in the Lisbon Town Court at a later date, officers said.
