Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center (CHMC) has issued the following information about its healthcare services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CHMC Nursing Advice Hotline at 315–713-6655 is open seven days a week, from 7 a.m.-3 p.m., to answer your COVID-19 related questions and schedule appointments at our Respiratory Clinic located on Mansion Ave., Ogdensburg. The Respiratory Clinic hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pediatric Respiratory Clinic appointments are available by calling the Nursing Advice Hotline.

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has re-opened many of its patient care services to the community. Services available now include physical rehabilitation services, cardiology, lab and x-ray services, surgical services, and patient financial counseling, to name a few.

Emergency nurses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to care for patients during some of their most difficult times.

Primary care providers are ready to take on new patients or catch up with returning patients and make sure they are up-to-date with their health care needs. Due to Covid-19, the hospital is not taking walk-in patients at any of its locations at this time. However, same-day visits are available at some locations.

Although in-person visits are preferred, CHMC offers virtual visits if necessary for those who prefer non-contact appointments. To make an appointment with any of its providers, call centralized scheduling at 315-713-6333.

Presently, Claxton-Hepburn is offering primary care services at the following locations Canton Health Center, 39 W. Main St., Canton; Claxton-Hepburn Health Center, 100 Horwood Place, Ogdensburg; Madrid Health Center, 2263 State Highway 310, Madrid; Waddington Health Center; Claxton Medical Family Medicine, 300 Chapman Street, Morristown; Claxton Medical Internal Medicine, 300 Lyon Place, Suite 200, Ogdensburg; and Claxton Medical Pediatrics, 500 State St., Ogdensburg.

To ensure patients, families, and visitors' safety, CHMC has enacted screening protocols for all those entering CHMC's hospital, clinics, and other facilities to reduce the risks of spreading this infection.

CHMC coordinates with state and local officials to safeguard patients, staff, and visitors from COVID-19. We ask those visiting our facilities to be patient with the additional questions asked. The screening questions will help clinicians ensure that those presented symptoms are treated with the appropriate cautions to halt the virus's spread.
