Ogdensburg City School District recognizes retirees at school board meeting

OGDENSBURG – The Ogdensburg City School District recognized and congratulated employees on their retirements at Monday’s Board of Education meeting. Those in attendance were presented with framed Certificates of Appreciation by Superintendent Kevin Kendall and Board of Education President Ronald Johnson.

Retirees recognized included motor vehicle pperator Wayne Bishop, 30 years of service upon retirement; school nurse-nursing supervisor Barbara Buscemi, 17 years; secondary school counselor Richard Christy, 24 years; secondary reading teacher Cheryl Claxton, 25 years; building maintenance helper Edmund Dishaw, 27 years; elementary principal Susan Jacobs, 33 years; secondary social studies teacher Julie Johnson, 33 years; teacher of deaf and hearing impaired Kathleen Kirkpatrick, 25 years; and elementary teacher Barbara Lashua, 33 years.

Also, secondary English teacher Michael Rabideau, 34 years; elementary teacher Angela Reed, 30 years; laborer Tad Remi, 32 years; elementary principal Paula Scott, 13 years; teaching assistant Anna St. Pierre, 20 years; superintendent Timothy Vernsey, 32 years; elementary teacher Dawn Washington, 33 years; and teaching assistant Theresa Woodward, 24 years.

“We wish each and every one of you a very happy retirement and thank everyone for all of your service,” Kendall said.

Employees reaching the milestones of 20, 25 and 30 years of service to the school district were also presented with commemorative pins.
