Ogdensburg City Council to discuss airport security, other resolutions Monday night
OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg City Council will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at city hall to discuss airport security and several resolutions.
An executive session will also be held to discuss pending or current litigation. In August the council voted to continue providing security at the airport for rest of the year, but councilor Nichole Kennedy said the city needs to ensure it has the workforce needed to provide the service.
Interim city manager Steve Jellie acknowledged that staffing at the police department needs to be addressed.
Jellie told the council decisions regarding staffing at the police department would need to be made. He is currently analyzing the city’s vacancies to determine which positions must be filled and which can remain vacant and for how long. It's likely a presentation and discussion in regard to filling positions will take place Monday.
