OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce is accepting entries from residents for its annual Holiday Lighting Contest.
Judging will take place on Monday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m.
Again this year, the public is also invited to join chamber members on the “Holiday Lighting Bus” as they judge the decorations on a bus from Laidlaw Education Services. Cost is $5 per person and chamber members say the trip is a wonderful way to view every place on the list.
As a result of the 2008 Holiday Lighting Contest, first-place winner Gary Ladouceur and his neighbors have decorated the entire park at the intersection of Main Street and Ogden Street. “This is the kind of community involvement we hope to inspire,” said Sandy Porter, chamber executive director.
Each year the chamber awards a $100 first and a $25 second prize in the following categories: Traditional, Holiday Spirit, Religious and People’s Choice. To sign up your home for the contest, call Porter at 393-3620 by Dec. 10.
The bus will leave North Country Savings Bank at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 and return around 9 p.m. Participation is limited to the first 40 people to sign up.
Call the Chamber office to reserve a seat at 393-3620.
