OGDENSBURG — Representatives from the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority met recently with Contour Airlines at their headquarters in Smyrna, Tennessee to mark eight months of Contour providing essential air service at Ogdensburg International Airport.

The visit follows complaints of frequent cancellations of Contour Air flights that are causing frustration for those attempting to fly in and out of the Ogdensburg International Airport. For details, see earlier story here.

The frequent cancellations and delays at the city airport are putting further strain on an already stressed police department, according to Ogdensburg Police Chief Mark Kearns. For more info, read story here.

The service of 12 weekly direct flights to Philadelphia provides a vital link for St. Lawrence County residents to the national air transportation system.

“Staff and I were very impressed with Contour Airline’s operations and facilities” said Board Chairperson Vernon “Sam” Burns.

Representatives discussed the positive impacts for OGS of Contour’s continuing expansion of services and growth of its airplane fleet, as well as the planned terminal expansion project at OGS that will greatly improve the customer experience.

“OBPA continues to be focused on providing our community with the highest level of air service and we are both committed to ensuring that occurs,” Burns said.
