OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority has named Steve Lawrence as interim executive director.

OBPA Chairman Vernon ‘Sam’ Burns said the appointment was made Thursday, and Lawrence has served as director of operations at the authority for 18 years.

Lawrence will replace Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority Director Wade Davis, who officially resigned from his position Jan. 17.

During his tenure, Davis helped the authority improve the port, the road access to the port and was instrumental in the major expansion of the Ogdensburg Airport Runway.

Recently Davis accepted an airport director position in Louisiana.
