The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging and County Council of Senior Citizens is accepting nominations for the 2020 St. Lawrence County Senior Awards.
The awards include Senior Citizen of the Year, Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen, and the Jacqueline Sears Volunteer Award.
Members of the public are encouraged to nominate an exceptional senior who volunteers in the community. Nominees for the Sears award nominee can be of any age.
For information on award qualifications and to receive nomination forms, contact the Office for the Aging at 315-386-4730.
The deadline for nominations is Feb. 21.
Senior Award winners will be announced at the May Fest.
The Office for the Aging provides service and advocacy for county residents 60 years and older.
Programs and services include Nutrition Centers and Home Delivered Meals, Home Care Services, Family Caregiver Support, Medical Transportation, Legal Services, Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance.
The Office’s mission is to develop a service system specifically designed to best meet the social and human needs of the elderly, said a press release from the organization.
