WANAKENA – In the only event of its kind in St. Lawrence County this election season, all three candidates for the 21st Congressional district are scheduled to appear together for a “candidates’ night,” in remote Wanakena.
Incumbent Democrat Bill Owens, Republican challenger Matt Doheny and Green Party candidate Donald Hassig are all scheduled to appear at a “candidates’ night” at the Wanakena Ranger School at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.
Wanakena is home to the NYS Ranger School and is about seven miles from Star Lake but about 55 miles from Ogdensburg.
All three men – Owens from Plattsburgh, Doheny from Alexandria Bay and Hassig from Colton – are running to represent the North County’s huge 21st Congressional District in the Nov. 6 election.
Candidates will make brief introductory presentations followed by questions from the audience. It is open to the public.
