NORWOOD -- Norwood Public Library has been awarded three grants to benefit the Norwood community.

The grants include a 2019 Incentive Grant from NCLS for $500, an Outreach Grant from NCLS for $580, and a grant from the Decentralization Program for $600.

The 2019 Incentive Grant will be used to launch the “Talking is Teaching” campaign in the community with North Country Library System staff and the Norwood Beach Department at Norwood Beach on June 22, 2019 at 1 p.m. The event will feature parent-tot swim class signups, a giveaway of 50 board books, a sensory art activity, a storywalk, and light refreshments for children and their caregivers. Children with special needs are encouraged to attend.

The NCLS Outreach Grant will fund the installation of a registered Little Free Library at the Norwood Beach to be maintained by the Norwood Public Library. Books will be available to beach-goers of all ages.

A six-week Arts Around the World program will be held at the Norwood Public Library beginning July 10, 2019. Classes will be taught by artist Kris Rozelle. Children ages 5 & up can sign up for this free program by contacting the library at (315) 353-6692 or nowlib@ncls.org.
