COLTON – A Norwood man died Tuesday afternoon after he lost control of his pickup truck on slippery pavement on NYS Hwy. 56 and overturned, according to state police.
Police said the accident occurred about 3:34 p.m.
Philip D. Paro, 69, was killed after his northbound 2004 Ford Pickup crossed the center line and struck a snow embankment on the other side of the road, causing the vehicle to flip onto the passenger's side.
Paro was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, police said.
Three other passengers in Paro's vehicle complained of pain and were also transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by the Potsdam and Colton rescue squads, police said.
