NORWOOD -- The Norwood Kiwanis recently donated a variety of toys and other supplies to the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center’s Children and Youth Services.
Six MP3 players, two DVD players, nine headphones, journals, puzzles and coloring books were among the donations given to the Ogdensburg center.
Since COVID-19 has required restrictions on in-person visits, SLPC has utilized tele-visits and other arrangements so children can have contact with their families and support systems.
Norwood Kiwanis recently held a “Bailout” fundraiser, where Kiwanis members solicited donations from family and friends to “bail themselves out of jail.” The money raised was used to purchase supplies for the Center, as well as donations to the Norfolk Rescue Squad and Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, Syracuse, said Kiwanis chairperson Martineau.
