NORWOOD -- The Norwood Volunteer Firemen’s Association, a non profit group which raises funds and provides manpower to the Norwood Volunteer Fire Department, recently secured a DEC grant and other independent funding to add Rescue Truck R12 (F250 crew cab) to its fleet.
The effort was led by 3rd Assistant Chief Dan Monica along with Association Treasurer Joe Andrasik.
The new truck is capable of carrying five personnel in full turnout gear and goes by the call sign 45-R-11.
Andrasik said the new truck will allow the department to respond to basement pump outs, weather emergencies, brush fires and medical assistance calls in a rapid and timely fashion.
